- Client required portable sales tools for sales reps to use out in the field
- Problem:
- Client required a handy sales tool for the iPod Touch that could support a sales rep in the sales process. The tool uses a decision matrix to guide the rep through a series of menus to the appropriate supporting asset for a given scenario. The assets include videos, images, clinical abstracts, animations and product specifications that could help illustrate a point during the course of a sales pitch.
- Solution:
- I performed research and discovery regarding the subject matter, the product lines, and best practices for design and development on the iPod Touch and iPhone devices. I also gathered data from sales reps in focus groups and other subject matter experts. Based on the business requirements and information gathered, I designed an interface that could support both native iPhone /iPod Touch devices and a web application as an alternate to the native application. This design presents an index of content by product or asset type that the user can either directly access or use a progressive disclosure interface to be prompted to right assets via a series of menus. The dual interfaces serve both novices and experienced sales reps.
