Spring is one of my busiest times of the year. It can be summed up by spending a lot of time outdoors watching Spring unfold while birding, painting and leading public tours as a docent at the Arnold Arboretum and co-leading bird walks for the Brookline Bird Club. I am also busy getting ready for the start of art fair season. This includes finishing paintings, varnishing, framing and getting all of my show supplies ready. Indirect Painting at the Academy of Realist Art in Boston
I have been taking classes at ARA for a couple of years where I first started doing Bargue drawings (graphite/sight-sized drawings) then eventually got tired of filling in the holes of the paper. I am now taking classes on color studies and portraiture. Here are a few examples…
Spring Shows!!
I am participating in these highly competitive shows again this year and grateful that I have a chance to show my latest work to folks. I will have a tent spot but do not know my location at this time so be on the lookout and check the websites for latest info.
The Beacon Hill Art Walk: Sunday, June 2 from noon – 6pm
Come stroll private gardens and alleys on the North Slope of Beacon Hill where artists and musicians will be set up. I will likely be in a tent spot somewhere around West Cedar Street. Visit the festival’s site for details.
The 44th Annual Coolidge Corner Arts Festival: Saturday, June 8, 11 am – 6 pm
I am happy to be returning after not making the cut last year 🙁 This is great event in the heart of Coolidge Corner in Brookline that will feature over 70 artists, a DJ, food trucks and a beer & wine garden. Check out the website for more details.
