This spring I set out with my binoculars and camera to capture not only rare migratory birds but any bird that strikes me and sticks around while I futz with my camera. I happened to capture some of my favorite common birds bathing and decided to create paintings based on my photos. I had never done this before and found it a challenge to try to capture them in in their cute yet disheveled states. Out of all my paintings this spring I find these to be my favorites.
